Using Discovery Learning as the foundation for our classroom experience, Huthwaite unites modern adult learning theory to The 4 Truths of Behaviour Change . Discovery Learning is an inquiry-based learning method that allows learners to have an "aha" moment - connecting the content to their real life experiences. But what does that mean for an individual or an organisation? Because a participant learns in a way that assimilates new skills into an existing frame of reference, he can learn faster. This equates to fewer total number of learning hours invested to acquire new skills and the achievement of greater proficiency of the new skills at a higher velocity. At the end of a classroom component of the engagement, a participant has a higher mastery of the new skills, which increases the likelihood that new skills will become habituated and will naturally be incorporated into sales behaviour. Discovery learning takes place most notably in problem solving situations where the learner draws on his own experience and prior knowledge to discover new information and skills.
